From Religion to Spirituality Normally I don’t make much comments to unending Facebook posts fearing the nature of the troll in the social media. However, I happened to write comment to a Facebook post of a friend that religion never solved any problems of humanity, and, at the same time, it must own responsibility for almost all problems of human beings. As expected, there came many protests on the comment I made. People were wondering why an important office holder of a Church talked against religion. Alright, I realise there is a need for an explanation from my side. First, I did not go running behind the position of Trustee of Sacred Heart Catholic Church- Adoor. I was compelled to take up the responsibilities at a critical juncture and I could not refuse considering my association with the church from childhood days. ചില മതാതീത ചിന്തകൾ മതം മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഒരു പ്രശ്നങ്ങക്കും പരിഹാരം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലായെന്നും എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യൻ ഇന്നു നേരിടുന്ന ഒട്ടുമിക്ക പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾക്കും കാരണം മതമാണെന്നും ഫേസ്ബുക്കിൽ ഒരു സുഹൃത്തിന്റെ പോസ്റ്റിനു comment ആയി കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം കുറിച്ചിരുന്നു . ആ comment ഇടുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ ഇത് ഒരു ചർച്ചയായി പരിണമിക്കുമെന്നറിയാമായിരുന്നു .   പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ പല സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും ബന്ധുക്കളും വിളിച്ച് പ്രതിഷേധം അറിയിച്ചു . അതുകൊണ്ട്   ഒരു   വിശദീകരണം ആവശ്യമായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു . “From religion we should graduate to spirituality.” Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam പ്രസിഡന്റ്‌ ആയിരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് കേരളത്തിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ നടത്തിയ ഒരു പ്രസംഗത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഉദ്ധരിച്ചതാണിത് . മതത്തിൽ നിന്നും ആത്മീയതയിലേക്ക്   നാം വളരേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നാണ് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു വച്ചത് . മതത്തിന്റെ ഒരേയൊരു ഗുണവശം ഇതാണെന്നാണ് എന്റെ വിശ്വാസം. ഒരു വ്യക്തിയെ ആത്മീയതയിലേക്കു കൈപിടിച്ചുയർത്താൻ കെൽപ്പുള്ള   പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളാണ് എല്ലാ മതങ്ങളും. മതങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധിക്കാത്തത് ആത്മീയതയ്ക്ക്   സാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ലോകത്തിലെ ഒട്ടുമിക്ക പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾക്കും പരിഹാരം ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ ആത്മീയത
